Book One — The Red Templars: Chalice of BloodPrologue — The Chalice and the VowsThe Red Templars, seven chosen knights bound by the Blood of Christ’s Chalice, are introduced. Immortal unless their heads are taken, stronger, swifter, and more enduring than mortal men, they vow to fight the darkest evils that plague creation. Each knight’s history is told: Sigismund the Bulwark, Alfred the Pious, Marshal the Iron Hand, Relic the Unseen, Dante the Watcher, William of Anglion, and Azrael the Angel of Death. A priest, Father Ambrose, binds their vows with psalms, bells, and sacrament. The March into DarknessThe Red Templars ride upon their warhorses, armored in crimson and steel, crossing desolate lands where villagers speak in whispers of demons, witches, and night-creatures. Along the way they defend innocents from brigands, orks, and beasts. The discipline of their order is shown in cleaning weapons, sharpening steel, tending horses, and in the compassion they give to the hungry and the lost. The First HuntThe knights face a creature born of nightmare — a witch-like fiend that weeps in shadows until disturbed, then transforms into a towering, clawed abomination. The fight is bloody, drawn-out, a clash of steel against horror. Sigismund’s Shield holds, Alfred’s Sanctifier burns, and together with their brothers they break the monster. Yet the Chalice’s blessing is tested, and each knight proves his faith upon the field. The Sanguine KnightsA sub-order is revealed — the Sanguine Knights, clad in gold and blood-red armor with glowing blue visors. They are psykers and daemon-hunters, wielding plasma arms sanctified against hell itself. Their sudden arrival provokes rivalry, but also respect, for they too serve Christ’s wrath. Michael the Archangel descends to prevent bloodshed between Red and Sanguine, warning both that they are brothers, not rivals. He gifts the Red Templars with soul-reaver spears, their horses with armor of Christ, and the Sanguine with everlasting cores. The Coming of the PrinceA demon prince, crowned in green flame, rises with an army of the dead. The Red Templars, Sanguine Knights, and Griffins of the sky-folk unite at Michael’s call. They defend the parish, rally the townsfolk, and fight horrors beyond number: vampires, wights, werewolves, and ash-born corpses stitched in blasphemy. The Shield of Protection — an ancient relic of the Crimson Order — is brought forth as the mantle of God’s Champion. The Death and the CoronationMichael calls God’s Champion — a being made of all fallen holy knights — who fights at the Red Templars’ side but falls to the demon prince’s blade. In that hour Sigismund lifts the Shield, becomes the new Champion, and leads the Templars in one last charge. The demon prince is broken, his armies scattered, his head severed by Alfred’s hand. The EpilogueMichael crowns Sigismund Champion of God, Alfred is given the Helm of Resilience to speak with Heaven, and the Orders swear to fight as one. But Michael warns: this was but the first crown. Greater evils stir. Book One ends with a parish saved, vows renewed, but the shadow of deeper wars rising. Read more
